Golden Crispy Fish Fillet

These days Everybody has heard that turmeric is good for your health. Turmeric has many scientifically proven health benefits, such as the potential to improve heart health, Alzheimer’s and cancer. In addition, it’s an excellent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant and may also help improve symptoms of depression and arthritis.

I include turmeric in this recipe to add deliciousness to food, and for health reasons, turmeric plays an essential role in digesting that food.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups dry potato flakes.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour.
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder.
  • 2 teaspoons Turmeric Powder.
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch.
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda.
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder.
  • 1 tablespoon seasoning salt.
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper.
  • 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper, or to taste.
  • 4 (6 ounces) fillets of cod, or You can use a whole fish like sea bream.
  • 2 cups butter flavoured shortening for frying.

Instructions

First, mix the dry ingredients, potato flakes, flour, garlic powder, Turmeric Powder, baking soda, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne.

Soak fish fillets in a bowl of cold water.

In a deep skillet or deep fryer, melt and heat the shortening to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Dredge fish fillets in a dry mixture and let them fry in the hot oil for 5 to 6 minutes or easily flake apart.

Remove fish from oil. Then place them on paper towels to get rid of excess oil.
